Holiday Delivery Results Are In!

Here at Dynamic Connections, giving back is very important to us.  We have an ongoing commitment to our community, and we often try to contribute in ways great and small to local organizations.  This year marked our 8th Annual Holiday Delivery.  This is an initiative we run with a partner organization Media Resources International (MRI) where we collect toys, food and gently used clothes.  As in previous years, we partnered with the Oakville Firehall who work with multiple charitable organizations to deliver these goods to those most in need.

Our goal this year was 150 toys and 500 items of food.  We smashed the toy goal at 330 items and nearly met our food goal at 338 items.  The response from our team was phenomenal.  We also asked our customers for donations which helped deliver on our goal.  Truly the mark of great partnerships! A wonderful effort by everyone and truly something to be proud of.

At Dynamic Connections, we like to celebrate our team and their hard work with monthly team building events.  This month, we decided that volunteering would be the best way to spend our time.  We gathered in a group at the Oakville Firehall and sorted toys for the morning. It was great to see giving in action and contribute to the fruits of our Holiday Delivery efforts.  We plan to make this an annual effort with volunteering so our efforts can create even more impact in our local community.  Roll on, 2025!

Dynamic Connections 8th Annual Holiday Delivery!

At Dynamic Connections, we pride ourselves on giving back to our community. We’re officially kicking off our 8th Annual Dynamic Connections Holiday Delivery, and we need your help!

This year, we’re looking to beat our own record, and donate more food items and toys than we ever have before!

We are aiming to collect 150 toys, and 500 pieces of food items for local food banks and charities.  Once again, we will be partnering with the Oakville Fire Hall.

Here is a list of food and personal hygiene products that are in highest demand through local food banks:

Cereal (Hot and Cold)

Large Soup
Juice (Boxes and 1 Litres)
Granola Bars (Peanut Free)
Peanut Butter
Crackers
Canned Fruit

Canned Tomatoes

Canned Vegetables
Canned Meat
Legumes
Pasta Sauce
Personal Hygiene products (feminine hygiene products, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, toothbrushes)

Did you know that children aged 13-16 are the most overlooked in charity drives? Though toys for children of all ages are appreciated, we’re also hoping to collect items such as makeup, bath and body products, hair products and accessories, fun socks and stationery.

Your generosity is welcome and greatly appreciated!

If you want to learn more about how you can contribute to our food and toy drive, you can reach out to Sara at 365-292-0132.

Welcome Team Boomer!

Last month, our Dynamic Connections family grew a little bigger. We’re happy and honoured to officially welcome Christian + Carson and the return of Abe to DCHQ. Lead by Zack Mulvale, they form Team BOOMER. And we couldn’t be more excited!

Shoutout to our very own Allie Oyler for sneaking in on a Sunday to surprise Team Boomer with some celebration balloons, desk supplies + treats as well as some custom crochet creations.

Dynamic Connections Halloween 2024

We got extra spooky this Halloween at DCHQ. Our creative DC team members came dressed as Minions and Mavericks, Ghostbusters and golf players, angels and devils and a spot-on Spider Man.

But after our sugar-crash came the hard part: Picking the best costume. This was so difficult for us, in fact, that we couldn’t settle on just one costume, so we picked two winners.

Congratulations to Ryan, who gave us all a great laugh with his ridiculously convincing Ned Flanders, and Meenakshi, who blew us all away as Harley Quinn!

Thanksgiving Potluck

Nothing brings us together like food does. With so many new staff members celebrating their first Thanksgiving as part of the Dynamic Connections family, we threw a plentiful potluck to celebrate the harvest.

With the anticipation of a long-weekend full of turkey, stuffing and mashed-potatoes, we took a different route for our DC Family potluck. Instead, we were lavished with savory samosas, spicy tofu & rice, warm dips, fluffy breads, meatballs and some melt-in-your-mouth rose gnocchi.

To ensure that their dishes stayed warm, many of our thoughtful team members brought their slow cookers and Instant Pots to ensure that their delicious contributions stayed warm until lunch. What a great idea!

It was wonderful to sit together and express gratitude for all the wonderful things that blessed us this year.

We scream for ice cream!

Our carrier partners know that there’s a one-way road straight to our hearts, and it’s through our bellies. On a hot September afternoon, one of our trusted carriers blessed us with a visit from an ice cream truck. One-by-one we all lined up and ordered our favourite cold treats. From dipped cones to snow cones, popsicles and slushies, we were grateful to take a moment and relax together while we enjoyed our ice cream.

But not too fast! Ouch, ice cream headache!

Pottery Night with DC!

Here at DC, we love our monthly team-building activities. Sometimes we’re shooting hoops, or hitting home runs while cheering each other on. We’ve gone bowling, and we’ve thrown axes. Other times, we’re channeling our inner artists with a paint night. For October, we got creative with a little field trip to 4Cats, a pottery studio right here in Burlington.

The goal was a bowl. Sounds simple enough, and yet, this project was not without its challenges. We had a blast trying to get the sides the same thickness all the way around, and ensuring the bowl kept its shape while we applied a thick layer of glaze. Our lovely instructors guided us through the process, and ensured we had all the right materials and tools for success.

Things got pretty competitive! Some of us were rather surprised at our own unexpected pottery skills. It quickly became clear who the perfectionists were amongst us, and who prefers to identify as an “abstract” artist. Though we seriously enjoyed putting the bowls together, the real fun started when we moved on the “splatter” portion of the night. This is when we added the finishing touches to our projects, which meant using our long paint brushes to splatter paint all over the outside and inside of our bowls. There were a lot of laughs, and a lot of paint…everywhere.

Though we left the pottery studio decorated with paint speckled on our faces and clothes, it was truly a night none of us will ever forget.
